Risk and Performance Management Division

Our team collaborates across departments to identify potential blind spots and ensure comprehensive risk evaluation and management.

Investment Risk & Performance Analysis

In this role, you will deliver an independent and objective analysis of the investment risk and performance factors influencing GIC's active strategies.

Key Responsibilities as an Investment Risk Manager:

You will be integral to a team responsible for the independent evaluation, measurement, monitoring, and reporting of GIC's market, credit, and operational risk profiles.

  • Portfolio Risk & Performance Evaluation: Deliver assessments to the CRO, Group CIO, and Strategy CIO regarding the risk and performance factors of credit strategies. This includes:
    • Developing comprehensive portfolio analytics using qualitative and quantitative performance and risk metrics, including stress testing and scenario analysis.
    • Engaging in discussions with the investment team on investment risk matters.
    • Monitoring and reviewing investment activities within the strategy.
    • Keeping abreast of market developments and assessing their potential impact on the strategy.
  • Product Risk Evaluation: Assessing the investment risk associated with new products under consideration by the strategy, providing evaluations to the CRO to ensure risks are identified, compensated, and authorized.
  • Risk Governance Framework: Developing, implementing, and reviewing policies and frameworks for managing investment risk.
  • Deal Risk Assessment: Offering independent evaluations of the risk-reward balance of significant deals to the CRO, supporting the Group Executive Committee's decision-making process.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • 2-5 years of experience in an analytical or investment-related capacity.
  • A BSc or MSc degree in Economics, Finance, Financial Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Accounting, or a related quantitative field.
  • A strong analytical foundation with a genuine interest in problem-solving and a broad understanding of financial markets and investments.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas, market perspectives, and technical topics clearly.
  • A collaborative team player who thrives in a dynamic environment.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and skill enhancement.
