This role will involve a hybrid work model, requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office.

Role Responsibilities

The Senior Associate in Portfolio Operations will be an integral member of the investment operations team, providing support for Primary Partnerships, Secondary, and Direct Co-Investments. This position will engage in various activities related to the transaction closing process, including:

  • Facilitating communication among relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Managing the closing process and documentation.
  • Conducting portfolio analysis and investment allocation across capital pools.
  • Recording and reconciling transactions within our internal systems.
  • Ensuring compliance with Know Your Client (KYC) regulations.

This role will serve as a liaison with internal departments such as Legal, Accounting, Treasury, Tax, Compliance, and Portfolio Analytics, adhering to all internal policies. The Associate will collaborate closely with deal teams in various regions and operational departments, striving to implement standardized processes across investment strategies and enhance the independence of investment operations in the Asia region. Previous experience in private equity, private credit, or a corporate law firm is advantageous. This position does not focus on evaluating investment opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with deal teams and external legal counsel to execute and lead investment closings, providing necessary materials to counsel.
  • Organize calls and maintain internal systems for tracking investment closings.
  • Coordinate with relevant parties, including treasury, to prepare funding packages for investments, ensuring all requirements are met accurately and promptly.
  • Work across multiple groups and regions to ensure compliance with closing processes and internal documentation.
  • Review and reconcile approval documents, allocation schedules, and legal documents, ensuring accurate data entry in internal systems.
  • Track and upload transaction-related legal and authorization documents.
  • Support the operations team with ongoing monitoring and portfolio functions.
  • Assist in preparing deal-related marketing materials, including descriptions and case studies.
  • Prepare invoices for deal-related expenses and manage allocations for received invoices.
  • Collaborate with the Direct deal team and internal operational groups to facilitate the exit of Direct investments.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across investment strategies and collaborate with internal partners to implement enhanced practices.
  • Develop a strong understanding of internal databases and perform regular data governance checks.
  • Utilize technology to report and analyze data supporting strategy team metrics.
  • Manage strategic initiatives and operational projects related to Asia transactions.
  • Address KYC inquiries and requests efficiently.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to provide documentation to external legal counsel or third parties.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities, with a focus on multitasking and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor of Arts (B.A) or equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor of Science (B.S) or equivalent experience.

Required Experience

  • A minimum of four years of relevant work experience.
