Job Description

The Deputy Director, co11ab will be responsible for overseeing the Administration Team to deliver day-to-day operations of co11ab, as directed by the Executive Director. The role will also execute the Business Development function within the Administration Team, providing co11ab with a steady stream of high-quality fledgling ventures and helping drive their development.



Responsibilities:

  • Identify and engage members of the highest quality, scouting the local ecosystem for promising fledgling ventures and partners to which co11ab can add value.
  • Drive development of member businesses by accelerating the growth of new ventures through networking, management team building, advisory and board appointments, venture funding attraction, collaborations, and corporate deals.
  • Assist the Executive Director in start-up/project selection, financing, and monitoring.
  • Attend internal and external forums/meetings/committees serving as point of contact and champion for co11ab.


Requirements:

  • A PhD in life sciences, physical sciences, or engineering with relevant experience, or a Bachelors' degree in entrepreneurship, business, or marketing.
  • A deep understanding of biomedical innovation cycle and entrepreneurship.
  • An understanding of translational development of biomedical assets including therapeutics, diagnostics, and medical devices.
  • Familiarity with Singapore's biomedical startup ecosystem.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a biomedical startup/technology transfer/venture building/innovation management.
  • Real-world entrepreneurial experience, including starting companies, raising capital, operating businesses, managing IP, business development, project management, and M&A.
  • Demonstrable team management skills with a strong track record of building and leading effective teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, with ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders of varied backgrounds.
  • Mission-oriented and a team player.
  • Strong EQ with ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Self-motivated and independent.
  • Organized and detail-focused.
