Senior Insurance Underwriter

An experienced Insurance Underwriter is sought to join our organization in a senior executive role. This challenging position requires an individual with excellent underwriting skills and strong analytical abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Assess applicant insurability by analyzing information in the application, screen applicants on the basis of set criteria, determine the risk of insuring an applicant, and decide special terms of exceptions.
- Prepare documents to obtain additional information, make arrangements for applicants to undergo medical examinations etc.
- Summarize medical reports received provided.
- Propose underwriting decisions.
- Discuss with Senior Underwriters/Clinical Directors for complicated cases.
- Provide advice when required to colleagues from other departments.
- Work closely with related departments to ensure that insurance applications are processed timely and accurately.
Requirements:
- Diploma/degree in any discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in insurance or healthcare.
- Sound understanding of underwriting concepts.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Positive, patient, organized, reliable personal qualities.
- Meticulous and keen in details.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Ability to multi-task and complete tasks within specified timelines.
