Job Overview

The role of Senior Employment Counsel – Asia Pacific involves leading the provision of legal support for the full range of employment law issues impacting Unilever's business across the region. This exciting new position requires an expert in employment law to establish strong relationships with Human Resources colleagues and provide support across contentious and non-contentious work.

This opportunity allows the successful candidate to operate with a high degree of autonomy, working with minimal supervision to shape the future of the Employment Law team. Key responsibilities include leading employment law legal support across Asia Pacific, partnering with HR teams to provide support for all contentious and non-contentious employment law work, and working with the IR/ER team to provide advice on employee relations matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead employment law legal support across Asia Pacific
  • Partner with HR teams to provide support for all contentious and non-contentious employment law work
  • Work with the IR/ER team to provide advice on employee relations matters
  • Provide expert advice and input in relation to global projects, policies, and initiatives
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified lawyer in a jurisdiction within the region with significant experience advising organizations on employment law issues across Asia Pacific
  • Deep experience advising on the full range of employment issues, including trade unions and other collective issues, on a cross-border basis
  • Experience working in a complex multinational organization – directly or on a secondment basis
  • Demonstrable experience of driving change
