We are seeking a visionary leader to spearhead our cocoa innovations in Asia. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to inspire teams to deliver cutting-edge solutions.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop innovative cocoa ingredients and technologies to meet the evolving needs of Asian customers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new product introductions and technologies.
  • Leverage core cocoa specialists to build customized solutions for customers.
  • Create new or improved ingredients and technologies to increase sales and stickiness for powder customers.
  • Identify opportunities to develop new cocoa-based products and implement them through R&D efforts.
  • Promote effective coordination and collaboration across teams using common facilities at the Customer Solutions Centre.

Requirements:

  • MSc or PhD in Food Technology or Food Chemistry; MBA or equivalent commercial qualification desirable.
  • Proven senior leadership experience in Product Development/R&D in the B2B or B2C cocoa or chocolate industry, with 13-17 years of experience minimum.
  • Expertise in ingredient functionality and complex food systems, with a track record of transforming ideas into bespoke concepts.
  • Excellent professional relationships with customers based on capabilities, knowledge, and drive to make things happen.
  • Leadership skills to transfer company growth aspirations into regional innovation strategies with tangible actions and KPIs.
  • Mastering the food development process from customer inspiration to winning customer projects.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, inspiring teams to go the extra mile combining intelligence, agility, creativity, and a 'can-do' mentality.
  • Possess a passion for innovative ingredients, food, or beverage products and technologies in the beverage, dairy, and ice category.
  • Integrity, inclusivity, and respect for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and social skills, listening well, fun to work with, and open-minded.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English, with other Asian languages an advantage.
  • This role requires 30% travel.
