We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as a Pulp & Paper Risk Management Specialist.

Job Description:

This role will involve conducting thorough risk evaluations of pulp and paper mills, with a focus on the Black Liquor Recovery Boiler (BLRB), including high-risk exposures such as smelt/water explosions and equipment breakdowns.

The successful candidate will develop and implement tailored insurance strategies considering the complexities of the BLRB and related equipment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting regular on-site inspections to assess equipment conditions, maintenance practices, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Evaluating business interruption risks and developing contingency plans to mitigate potential losses related to the BLRB.
  • Collaborating with plant personnel and insurers to gather insights, review insured values, and optimize risk mitigation strategies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Relevant years of experience in risk management or insurance within the pulp and paper industry.
  • Strong understanding of engineering risks and insurance principles, with a focus on the BLRB.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
