Job Title: Data Governance Executive

This position oversees the strategic direction of Master Data Management (MDM) across the organization. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with expertise in data governance, system implementation, and leadership.

The Global Process Owner for MDM reports to the MDM Tower Lead and is responsible for governing and optimizing MDM processes. This includes designing and implementing MDM processes aligned with organizational priorities, establishing and maintaining master data standards, policies, and procedures, harmonizing master data practices for consistency, scalability, and integration, driving data lifecycle strategy aligned with regulatory and operational requirements, and championing data ownership models and ensuring clear role accountability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and govern MDM processes in alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Establish and maintain master data standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Harmonize master data practices for consistency, scalability, and integration.
  • Drive data lifecycle strategy aligned with regulatory and operational requirements.
  • Champion data ownership models and ensure clear role accountability.
Systems Oversight:
  • Collaborate with BT on the selection and implementation of MDM systems and tools.
  • Oversee the integration and alignment of SAP S/4 and MDG systems with MDM processes.
  • Drive automation and digital transformation initiatives for master data workflows.
Culture, Enablement & Change Management:
  • Promote a data-driven culture and awareness across the enterprise.
  • Support change management and training programs for MDM policies and tools.
  • Collaborate with analytics and organization for AI-ready data curation.
Professional Education And Skills:
  • Education: Masters degree and 8 to 10 years of relevant experience OR; Bachelors degree and 10 to 14 years of relevant experience OR; Certification in data governance or data quality management.
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in Master Data Management, with leadership experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
  • Previous leadership across multiple data domains; customer, vendor, finance, and product.
  • Skills/Competencies: Familiarity with ERP systems and MDM tools, strong business acumen aligning data strategy to enterprise goals, ability to influence senior stakeholders and collaborate globally, entrepreneurial mindset driving transformational change, outstanding leadership, communication, and change management skills.
