Process Development Engineer

As part of our Process Development team, you will have the opportunity to conduct feasibility studies, develop new processes and materials for emerging technologies under research and development.

You will become part of a team that sets standards for excellence, creativity and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct proof-of-concept evaluations and design of experiments (DOEs) on process equipment
  • Establish baseline processes and metrics
  • Characterize processes
  • Develop design guidelines for manufacturability
  • Define procedures and metrologies
  • Generate engineering reports based on studies and evaluation
  • Report engineering studies to cross-functional teams

Requirements:

  • Science degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in process R&D
  • Hands-on experience with molding operations such as transfer molding, compression molding, liquid compression molding, injection molding, wafer-level molding and film-assisted molding

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Good knowledge in design of experiment (DOE), engineering statistics, root cause analysis and problem-solving
  • Familiarity with different metrology tools and quantitative measurement methodologies
  • Clear and effective written and communication skills
  • Resourceful and innovative mindset
  • Knowledge and experience with handling process equipment such as Towa, ASM, Fico, vacuum degassing systems, thermal cure ovens, mold tool design and mold flow simulation
  • Understanding of molding compounds and their interaction with bonding materials is advantageous
  • Experience in high-precision molding for optical, MEMS or semiconductor applications is preferred
