We are in search of a skilled DevOps Engineer who possesses experience in supporting and developing applications within an enterprise-level environment, coupled with a strong background in database administration. As a DevOps Engineer at our organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless deployment, maintenance, and enhancement of mission-critical applications.Responsibilities:
  • Support Enterprise-Level Applications: Provide essential support for our OSS/BSS applications operating at an enterprise scale.
  • Robust Application Deployment: Manage the deployment of applications in a robust and adaptable environment, ensuring high availability.
  • Platform Management: Install and upgrade packaged platforms, maintaining their optimal performance.
  • Automation and Recovery: Develop and extend recovery procedures, automating manual tasks to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Release and Defect Management: Collaborate with our development team to handle release and defect management efficiently.
  • Process Integrity: Promote and maintain a strong control and process environment that safeguards the integrity and continuity of critical business information.
  • Troubleshooting: Address application bugs and performance issues through systematic troubleshooting.
  • System Improvement: Proactively analyze system performance and recommend improvements, producing necessary documentation.
  • Environment Support: Provide technical support for Production, UAT, and Development environments, ensuring their stability.
  • On-Call Support: Be prepared to offer rostered on-call and after-hours support when required.
Candidate's requirements:
  • Linux Expertise: Proficiency with various Linux flavors, especially RHEL/Centos.
  • Programming and Web Development: Experience with Java and web application frameworks.
  • Tool Proficiency: Familiarity with tools such as Tomcat, Oracle, PL/SQL, MySQL, Postgres, and GIT.
  • Automation Tools: Competence in automation tools like Ansible and Puppet.
  • Atlassian Stack: Experience with Atlassian tools, including JIRA, Bitbucket (Stash), Confluence, Hipchat, and Bamboo.
  • Scripting Languages: Capability with scripting languages such as Java, Python, Ruby, Groovy, JavaScript, Bash/Shell, ANT, Maven, Perl, and more.
  • Enterprise Messaging Systems: Knowledge of enterprise messaging system components like ActiveMQ and JMS.
  • Application Tuning: Proficiency in tuning and administering J2EE applications and SQL databases.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Time Management: Strong time management, coordination, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Team Collaboration: Experience working with geographically dispersed teams and third-party providers.
  • Oracle DBA Experience: Those with Oracle DBA experience will be considered favorably.
  • Educational Background: Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science or a related degree.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in supporting or developing applications within an enterprise-level environment.
