Singapore Dulwich College (Singapore) Full time

An outstanding and inspirationalJunior School Music Teacheris required forAugust 2024.

The successful candidate will be expected to deliver both class instrumental lessons (with the ability to lead brass groups an advantage) and musicianship classes. They will have the ability to lead choral groups, including choirs, and will prioritise building a foundation of wellbeing in the classes they teach, supporting and challenging every child to help them thrive and maximise their musical potential. There are six members of the Junior School music department, four specialist teachers and two specialist assistant teachers. The successful candidate will also be required to support with Music in the Senior School.

Strength in performance music, experience in leading instrumental or choral ensembles, together with skills as an accompanist and a knowledge of music technology, would also be advantageous. Applicants will be excited to create performance opportunities for, beginner through expert, student musicians, and will make use of the state-of-the-art facilities that the College and Junior School offer. These include a professional theatre seating 750 people, an orchestral practice and recording room, black box theatres and fully resourced, dedicated music classrooms.

Applicants will understand the importance of home-school partnerships and will be passionate about interacting with children beyond the classroom, through the co-curricular programme. The Junior School

Our Junior School caters for 880 enthusiastic learners aged between 7 and 11. Everything we do is underpinned by a culture of safety and wellbeing for all members of the community.We build upon the excellent foundations laid in DUCKS, and develop a depth of academic knowledge, as well as the life skills and mindset needed, to prepare students for the best possible success in our Senior School. We want children to leave Year 6 as motivated, independent and collaborative learners.
