JOB TYPE

1-year renewable contract

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Storage :- 3 5 years

  • Support and manage an HPE Alletra Storage 5000 and Hpe StoreOne unit that contains file repositories and application data.
  • Migrate data for various hosts like Linux, and windows hosts.
  • Deploy ECC infrastructure agents and discover storage arrays, switches, hosts in the SAN environment.
  • Perform storage allocation from HPE Alletra Storage 5000 using and Hpe StoreOne.
  • Create local backups by scheduling snapshots and restoring the data using snapshot IQ.
  • Discover arrays, servers, and switches on the new windows/Linux server after moving them to the new data centre.
  • Increase the switch port speed to support the high speed HBA cards.
  • Perform storage allocations, LUN masking, and data migrations.
  • Create MetaLUNs by expanding base LUN's using striping and concatenation.
  • Perform performance monitoring on storage and set up alerts & notification.
  • Create host group profiles and allocate while enforcing dynamic tier policies while allocating storage on RAIDCOM control host CLI.
  • Troubleshoot various problems encounter in the migration with PowerPath, HBA drivers on multiple OS flavors.
  • Participate in planning and implementation of storage array changes including firmware version, and storage virtualization.
  • Maintain the enterprise virtualization environment SaaS / PaaS including troubleshooting, performance, capacity, and continuity planning.
  • Troubleshoot performance problems and propose solutions.
  • Maintain all equipment for backup environment to include servers' disk and tape storage devices.
  • Follow and maintain in-house documentation for repeatable processes.
  • In addition to the backup responsibilities, the position will also be responsible to resolve datacenter service requests, build and decommission servers, and support production datacenter operations.
  • Provide Tier 3 NetBackup support via a ticketing system including restores, troubleshooting and assisting server and database administrators.
  • Analyze reports and resolve backup errors and incidents.
  • Develop scripting solutions for backup and restore processes.

NetBackup - 3 5 years

  • Monitor backup jobs across multiple platforms and locations.
  • Maintain backup policies and standards.
  • Design/Implement/Configuring NetBackup solutions & managing client's expectations.
  • Hands-on knowledge on Veritas NBU Flex appliances is must - knowledge on VRP is a definite plus.
  • Veritas /Symantec NetBackup (9.X, 8.X, 7.5, 7.1,7.0, 6.5 etc) Configuration & Administration of Master & Media Server in Symantec NetBackup, SAN media Servers and all the NetBackup Clients.
  • Tuning NetBackup for optimum performance. Troubleshooting NetBackup backup and restorations failures based on Error Codes and performing appropriate action towards resolutions.
  • Timely restoration drills for data availability check & consistencies.
  • Handling daily backup schedules and restorations of different Client Servers (Windows, UNIX and Linux). Perform Catalog Backup and Disaster recovery.
  • Proficiency in SQL database queries and scripts.
  • Overall Unix/Linux/Windows system experience.
  • Overall Security background (IP, Firewall, IDS etc.).
  • Network management experience a plus
