Job Description:

  • Ensuring all colleagues arrive for their shift on time, well-groomed and ready to work
  • Assign work station to all colleagues during line-up and pass on events and information
  • Lead and supervise a team of stewards in maintaining the cleanliness of the restaurant and ensuring high standards.
  • Disseminate all important operational information to all stewards
  • Ensuring that all colleagues are following the proper procedures and standards set in place by the department and the hotel
  • Responsible for the opening and closing shift
  • Ensure that all Kitchens are cleaned, organized and sanitized
  • Ensure all daily tasks list are completed
  • Assist culinary team for any kind of resource request
  • Ensuring all equipment is cleaned, maintained and properly stored after an event
  • Ensure all storage room are kept clean and organized
  • Have a proactive eye for detail and cleanliness
  • Follow department policies, procedures and service standards
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Ensure Back of House areas are maintained to the highest cleanliness standards and cleaning schedules are followed and completed
  • Observe Health, Hygiene and Safety guidelines when handling hazardous substances and comply with all aspects of Health and Safety requirements
  • Report faults, misused or damaged equipment issues to the Sous Chef, and/or Engineering Manager
  • Assist in the location, movement and storage of operational equipment
  • Assist the Stewarding Leadership Team in recruitment, employees' performance appraisals & any other HR related matters
  • Conduct on the Job Training and technical knowledge training with all new stewards
