Job Description:
  • Partner with business team leads to provide HR guidance, solutions and insights for people and organisational matters, with solid understanding of business goals and challenges. Support assigned team leads to implement business strategy from an HR perspective, and empower them to handle people issues effectively.
  • Develop and implement HR initiatives, programmes and processes aligned with the company's direction and business strategy in the domain areas of HRBP and Talent Management, while ensuring compliance with local regulations and policies.
  • Conduct workforce planning and organisational effectiveness assessment, addressing capacity and capability gaps with analytics and data-driven recommendations, to improve overall productivity of our workforce and business operations.
  • Contribute to implementing talent strategies to increase talent density and leadership pipeline readiness. Run effective HR programmes to identify, develop and retain key talents with systematic and planned approach. Participate in performance management/appraisal discussions including performance related interventions.
  • Coordinate Employee Relations management including but not limited to grievance handling, investigation and Labour-Management Committee. Ensure a high level of employee engagement through proactively checking the pulse of employees and timely addressing issues and feedback.
  • Independently lead a domain area of Recruitment or Learning & Development, managing wing-to-wing process and operations to provide a CoE level solution to the local People team and business, with proven expertise and solid experience in such domain area.
  • Build strong and trusted relationships with employees and leaders across all levels of the organisation, and act as a bridge between employees and management. Foster a collaborative work environment across teams and create a high performing culture where people thrive and grow. Promote a positive, diverse and inclusive culture.
  • Work closely with the senior HRBP to align on overall HRBP initiatives, and other People team members in Korea & Japan on their domain areas such as HR operations, engagement, benefits, etc. Collaborate with People teams in HQ and other countries to adopt and execute global initiatives and projects, and ensure our local policies and initiatives are aligned with the global Shopee community.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree with at least 5 years of HR experience, preferably in tech/ecommerce industry or multinational company.
  • HR experience must include both (a) full-time HR Business Partner or HR Manager role and (b) Recruitment or Learning & Development experience.
  • Good understanding of labour laws in Korea and/or Japan.
  • Possess a growth mindset and proactive work attitude, taking full ownership and accountability for assigned scopes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking and analysis, and experience consulting on complex issues with multiple dimensions to assess.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced working environment, managing multiple simultaneous priorities, with resilience and ability to tolerate uncertainty.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship building skills with people intuition and empathy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Fluency in Korean and English required. Proficiency in Japanese is a plus but not required.
