Role Description

This role requires deep expertise in ISO 20022, instant payments infrastructure, and payment processing systems. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to define and deliver scalable, secure, and compliant real-time payment solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end solution design for real-time payment platforms, ensuring alignment with industry standards (e.g., ISO 20022, SWIFT, NPP, FedNow, RTP).

  • Collaborate with business teams to understand requirements and translate them into scalable payment solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., PSD2, AML, KYC, PCI-DSS) in payment solutions.
  • Work with engineering teams to guide development, testing, and deployment of real-time payment solutions.
  • Evaluate and integrate third-party payment providers, APIs, and cloud-based payment services.
  • Optimize transaction processing for performance, security, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes in real-time payments.
  • Serve as the technical subject matter expert for real-time payment technologies, standards, and regulations

Required Skills:

  • 8+ years of experience in payment systems, financial technology, or banking technology; with minimum of 3 years of solution delivery experience real-time payments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or finance.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address payment processing challenges.
  • Hands-on experience with real-time payment networks (e.g., NPP in Australia, PayNow in Singapore).
  • Deep understanding of payment processing lifecycles, clearing, and settlement mechanisms.
  • Expertise in API-driven payments, microservices architecture, and cloud-native payment solutions.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards, including AML, KYC, PSD2, and PCI-DSS.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, bridging business and technology teams effectively.
  • Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud platforms (AWS or GCP) for payment processing.
