Ant Group - Legal Counsel - ABAC, Regulatory Compliance, Government Enforcement Defense

Responsibilities:

  1. Handle ABAC compliance matters, export control and sanctions, government enforcement defense, cross-border commercial disputes, and internal/external investigations.
  2. Advise the business on anti-corruption and anti-bribery (ABAC) as well as other regulatory compliance risks.
  3. Identify and develop compliant, effective, and practical solutions for the business.
  4. Draft and revise ABAC-related policies.
  5. Develop compliance training materials and deliver live training sessions.
  6. Perform transactional due diligence relating to ABAC and oversee vendor due diligence.
  7. Collaborate with Global Compliance Policies team on cross-border government enforcement defense, complex litigation, and investigations.
  8. Stay informed of regulatory changes and emerging compliance risks.
  9. Respond to new compliance and regulatory trends.

Qualifications:

  1. At least 5 years of litigation, investigations, or regulatory compliance experience in an international law firm or multinational in-house legal department.
  2. Knowledge of ABAC laws and regulations, experience handling related investigations, and providing compliance advice.
  3. Excellent command of spoken and written English and Mandarin Chinese.
  4. Strong interpersonal skills and experience working across disciplines.
  5. Highly proactive, able to work independently under tight schedules.
