About the role

Assistant BBQ Chef

The Assistant BBQ Chef is responsible for the production, preparation and presentation of all food items within his/her section, ensuring the highest possible quality at all times. Inspects all food preparation areas in his section by following the hotel's safety, hygiene and sanitation standards.

What you will do

1. Collaborate in overseeing food production quality and cost control within the department.

2. Verify the accuracy of ingredients ordered, ensuring quality, quantity, and weight meet standards.

3. Assist in the creation and enhancement of BBQ menu items, address guest complaints, and devise improvement strategies.

4. Assist in the production, preparation, and presentation of all BBQ dishes, including sauces and customized orders.

5. Uphold cleanliness, organization, and food hygiene standards in the kitchen environment.

6. Ensure proper closure of equipment such as gas, water, and electricity, as well as secure refrigerators and aisle entrances.

7. Responsibility for all BBQ production and offer support in the Chinese Kitchen.

8. Provide guidance and motivation to team members to foster growth and productivity

What you bring

· Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Assistant BBQ chef, including 1 year in a supervisory role within a luxury hotel or Michelin restaurant.

· Proficient in Cantonese BBQ Cuisine.

· Eager to enhance management abilities within the hospitality sector.

· Demonstrates positivity, creativity, and adeptness in guiding others.

· Proficient in basic computer skills, including MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Schedule & Hours:

This position requires a person with a flexible schedule and the ability to work on a rotating split-shift basis, including weekends, and holidays.
