Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Hadoop Administrator with a strong background in Big Data Hadoop and Unix/Linux to join our client. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing, managing, and administering our Hadoop infrastructure, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deploy, configure, and manage Hadoop clusters, including adding/removing nodes.
  • Monitor and maintain Hadoop infrastructure using tools such as Cloudera Manager.
  • Perform routine health checks to ensure system stability and optimal performance.
  • Conduct storage data analysis and allocate space in HDFS efficiently.
  • Implement best practices for process management, resource scheduling, and system optimization.
  • Manage software installations and configurations on UNIX/Linux operating systems.
  • Develop and maintain shell scripts for automation and system management.
  • Troubleshoot networking, CPU, memory, and storage issues as they relate to Hadoop environments.
  • Ensure Hadoop security policies and compliance measures are effectively implemented.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in Hadoop administration with hands-on expertise in Cloudera, Hortonworks, or Apache Hadoop.
  • Proficiency in UNIX/Linux, including command-line operations, scripting, and software installation.
  • Experience with cluster monitoring tools and HDFS storage management.
  • Strong understanding of operating system concepts, resource management, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Solid experience in shell scripting for automation.
  • Basic knowledge of networking, CPU, memory, and storage components.
  • Ability to analyze system logs and performance metrics to improve system efficiency.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications in Hadoop Administration or Linux are a plus.
  • Experience with cloud-based Big Data platforms is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with YARN, Spark, or Hive is desirable.
