We are seeking a proactive, hands-on team player to join our fun and dynamic ship management team as a Technical Assistant. This role has been added to our growing team to help support our expanding fleet operations. You will work closely with the DP Technical Superintendent to ensure our vessels run safely, efficiently, and meet all regulatory and industry standards.
Dry Docking
- Plan, assist and manage Dry Docking preparations and ensures vessel's dry-docking plan/ schedule/ budget has been arranged before due date.
- Coordinate with the Superintendent & Vessel crew in completion of dry-docking specifications/ repair work scope for docking preparation.
- Liaise with vendors in sourcing for quotations (Shipyards, Spares & Services) and ensure the Vendor availability is align on the Docking Schedule and prepare budget for management approval.
- Create docking work schedule/timeline.
- Set up and manage clear and concise reports, covering all aspects of vessel dry dockings for the Marine Division, enabling management to assess cost and schedule of vessels dockings and maintenance.
- Assist management and technical department in performing cost analysis and financial planning for the dry docking and maintenance works of vessels.
Service and Procurement
- Ensure service arrangements e.g Class attendance, technicians requisition form raised (by vessels or office) are sourced, evaluated, negotiated and arranged.
- Create purchase order/ service work order correctly to enable proper resourcing and produce accurate PO/SWO.
- Ensure confirmation of services delivered or completed respectively is recorded.
- Support accounts payables for follow-up monitoring & tracking Delivery Orders (DO) and Receipts processing within 30 days after completion or orders or service job completion.
Maintenance
- Maintain and update Vessels Engine Overhaul Status report in monthly basis.
- Monitor Engine Overhaul due dates liaise with superintendent's overhauls plans, cost and schedule.
- Monitor close out of Vessels defect reports (VDR).
- Assist Technical Superintendent in fault finding
Vessel Class Survey Status / LSA FFA
- Monitor Vessels' Classification survey status / LSA FFA and provide reports to vessel superintendents and management for due dates.
- Liaise with Vessels Superintendent on plans and schedule for Class Surveys and LSA /FFA.
- To ensure PMS is working and followed by the vessels.
- Ensure Noon, Month end and weekly reports are sent by vsl.
Document Control
- Monitor and Control Technical Team Documents and maintain files in Fleet-tech drive.
- Assist Technical Department in preparing Management reports (docking /maintenance /costing / scheduling) as required.
- Prepare and provide documents and evidence for Technical Team in line with Audit.
- Update and present MOM for Daily fleet meeting.
- Any other duties related as assigned by Manager and Management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- 5–7 years of related experience, preferably in the maritime or ship management industry.
- Experience with purchasing systems will be an added advantage.
- Strong communication skills, proven project management abilities, and a collaborative team-player mindset.
- Willingness to travel for short assignments, as required by projects.
- Flexibility to work outside normal office hours to accommodate projects across different time zones.
- Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
