Roles & Responsibilities

Job Description


• Be in the Science Lab's preparation room and science labs during

working hours.


• Preparation and provision of apparatus, equipment and other teaching

materials and equipment for lessons as requested by the Science

Teachers.


• Collect and clear away equipment and other teaching material after

the lesson, including safely disposing of waste and washing-up

apparatus


• Check for faulty and damaged equipment after each lesson, report to

the science teacher and or HOD (as appropriate), and repair, if

possible.


• Liaise with TA to keep IT equipment including desktops, notebooks,

visualisers and projectors in working condition.


• Check and replenish first aid box/kit


• Distribute desk copies and science materials to teachers.


• Stock management

o To prepare an inventory of stocks twice a year

o To liaise with the HOD to replenish consumables

o To keep a stock book and record breakage and to liaise with

the HOD to make replacements.

o To keep a record of apparatus and reference materials loaned

to teachers.


• Special activities

o To maintain any exhibits (including noticeboards, interactive

exhibits, life exhibits) placed inside the lab and various parts of

the school.

o To support teachers in matters relating to practical

assessments.

o To help in preparations for any science exhibition.

o Provide support to science teachers and the HOD in any other

related matters.
