Science Lab Assistant
Contract Period
1 January 2026 – 31 December 2026
Option to extend annually until December 2028 (subject to performance and agreement)

Working Hours
Term Time
Mondays to Thursdays: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM (inclusive of 1-hour lunch break)
Fridays: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (inclusive of 1-hour lunch break)
Hours may be adjusted based on lesson schedules provided by the teacher-in-charge.

Scope of Services
Responsibilities
The Science Lab Assistant will ensure smooth operation and maintenance of the school's science laboratories and science room, supporting teachers in lesson preparation and execution. Responsibilities include:

  • Lab Preparation & Support
Prepare apparatus, materials, and equipment for experiments and practical lessons.
Support teachers in lesson preparation and experiment setup.
Assist in science research projects and school events related to science.
Invigilate science practical assessments.
  • Lab Operations & Maintenance
Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and safety of laboratories and storerooms.
Monitor laboratory usage schedules for teachers.
Assist in procurement of science equipment, instruments, and materials.
Liaise with vendors or contractors for equipment servicing and repairs.
  • Inventory & Record Management
Perform data entry and update laboratory storage and inventory systems.
Track usage and condition of laboratory resources and replenish as needed.
  • Physical Requirements
Able to climb staircases (laboratories are located from Level 2 to Level 4; no lift access).
  • Other Duties
Carry out any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications & Skills
Relevant expertise and work experience in science laboratory operations.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Completed at least Secondary education and able to speak English fluently.
Relevant administrative experience preferred (e.g., using MS Outlook or equivalent email software, MS Office applications).
