About the Role

At Gatherer's Tavern, we believe in creating unforgettable experiences for trading card game fans and collectors worldwide. We're looking for a Trade Marketing & Events Manager to help us expand our global presence — both at retail and at the biggest conventions.

This role blends strategy and hands-on execution: you'll build strong retail partnerships, grow our visibility in stores and online, and deliver engaging fan activations at conventions like MagicCon, MCM Comic Con, Gamescom, and Gen Con.

If you live and breathe Magic: The Gathering and Yu-Gi-Oh, and are highly detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable working with many different people, this role puts you right at the heart of shaping those experiences.

What You'll Do

Trade Marketing

  • Design and lead trade marketing programs that drive awareness and sales worldwide.
  • Build and manage partnerships with global retail and distribution partners.
  • Work with creative and marketing teams to create impactful retail assets (POS displays, promo campaigns, digital content).
  • Track performance metrics and adjust strategies for stronger ROI.
  • Explore and develop new retail opportunities across global markets.

Events & Conventions

  • Lead Gatherer's Tavern's presence at major global conventions, including MagicCon, MCM Comic Con, Gamescom, and Gen Con.
  • Manage end-to-end event planning: booth design, logistics, product displays, staffing, and activations.
  • Ensure all event messaging aligns with global marketing campaigns.
  • Deliver post-event recaps with insights and recommendations.

Collaboration

  • Work with leadership to align marketing and event strategies with business goals.
  • Partner with global marketing and sales teams to support launches and retail activations.
  • Manage vendors, agencies, and suppliers to deliver high-quality executions across regions.
  • Build strong working relationships across cultures and teams, balancing different priorities with professionalism and empathy.
What We're Looking For
  • Experience in trade marketing, event management, or a related role — ideally in collectibles, tabletop gaming, toys, or lifestyle brands.
  • Hands-on experience executing large-scale events (both B2B and B2C).
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent project management skills.
  • Comfortable working with a wide range of people — from internal teams and external vendors to retailers and fan communities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Knowledge of the global retail and convention landscapes; experience across EMEA, APAC, or North America is a plus.
  • Deep familiarity with trading card games — especially Magic: The Gathering and Yu-Gi-Oh — is a significant advantage.
  • Willingness to travel frequently for conventions and retail activations worldwide.
