We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Procurement to lead and manage the procurement function across our education group. This role will be responsible for the planning, sourcing, and purchasing of goods and services, with a strong emphasis on IT procurement to support the digital transformation of our academic and administrative operations. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of procurement best practices, supplier management, and contract negotiations, especially within the education or public sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the organization's academic and administrative goals.
  • Lead all procurement activities, including tendering, vendor selection, contract negotiation, and supplier performance evaluation.
  • Drive strategic sourcing initiatives for IT products and services, including software licensing, hardware and cloud solutions.
  • Establish and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders (IT, Finance, Academic, Operations) to understand business needs and ensure cost-effective procurement solutions.
  • Manage vendor relationships and conduct performance reviews to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and service delivery.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and emerging technologies.
  • Lead the development of procurement budgets and forecasts, ensuring adherence to financial targets.
  • Oversee the full procurement lifecycle including RFQs/RFPs, contract management, and procurement analytics.
  • Promote sustainability, ethical sourcing, and risk mitigation practices within the procurement framework.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field. Professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CPM) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of procurement experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong track record in IT procurement (software, hardware, cloud services, etc.)
  • Proficiency in using procurement systems and ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa).
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team while working cross-functionally across departments.
