Calling All Producers Who Love the Chaos (and Master It) of Commercial Productions

Hi there. We're Atypicalfilms, a boutique film production company creating TV commercials. Right now, we're on the lookout for a Line Producer/Producer to join our team.

We could CHATGPT the entire Job Description but if you are reading this as a producer somewhere, we figure you already know what it takes. But just in case, here's a brief breakdown (And yes we all know it's a list that's potentially longer than Santa's one)

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Making Magic Happen: Manage projects from pitch, quote, pre-prod to post, keeping things running smoother than an motion control tracking shot.
  • Budget Wizardry: Stretch that dollar like it's elastic but never let it snap. We like smart spending, not penny-pinching. Value is relative and we genuinely love giving great value to our clients and productions.
  • Client Whispering: Be the bridge between our vision and theirs, keeping everyone happy while holding the creative line and their lattes. Hospitality is key.
  • Wrangling the team, not just data: Crews, cast, freelancers—you'll know who to call, how to get them on board and balance the circus.
  • Problem-Slaying: Equipment hiccups? Tornado on shoot day? No problem. You're the one who always finds a way or at least McGyver your way out.
  • Creative Visionary: Who says producers aren't creative? Who else can turn $200 into a Ferrari with one phone call? Seriously, there's no way you can produce a film without first having a vision and a dream right?

What We're Looking For:

  • At least 2-3 years of production experience (commercials preferred, but if you've wrangled a feature or long form out there, we're all ears).
  • Master of organization. Like, borderline obsessive.
  • Cool under pressure—our set should never feel like a Netflix disaster doc.
  • An eye for quality and taste and a passion for great storytelling.
  • Bonus points if you've worked in a regional capacity or know how to handle borderless productions. Of if you also act, know Nuke, Aftereffects or can crochet.
