Roles & Responsibilities

EI Holdings delivers high-quality IB education to a diverse student body. We are looking for an enthusiastic IB English and Literature instructor to help students achieve mastery in language, analysis and appreciation of literature.

Teaching duties

  • Teach IB English and Literature to students in MYP and DP.
  • Create engaging units of inquiry combining language study and literature.
  • Prepare students for IB assessments in English and Literature, including essays and oral components.
  • Support individual learning needs with targeted strategies in English and Literature.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to align teaching across grade levels
  • Mentor students to develop analytical, writing, and communication skills

Non-teaching duties:

  • Participate in professional duties as necessary outside of the scope of the school day (e.g. Field trips, professional development on weekends as needed, and after school meetings as required)
  • Supervise duties at break/lunch and/or other unstructured times
  • Lead/coach an after school CCA (co-curricular activity)
  • Assist in internal sub coverage according to department needs
  • Provide any other reasonable duties delegated by the School
  • Contribute to school continuous improvement by being a member of assigned committee or work group

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in English, Literature or related field.
  • IB teaching experience in English and Literature is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of inquiry-based teaching methods.
  • Ability to motivate and challenge students of different abilities.
