Roles & Responsibilities

Role Overview

We are seeking a Core Banking Functional Lead to drive the successful execution of banking transformation initiatives. This role requires a strong blend of technical understanding, vendor coordination, and stakeholder engagement—particularly with banking partners. The ideal candidate will serve as a bridge between business and technology, ensuring seamless delivery across all phases of the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead functional analysis and solution design for core banking systems
  • Proposal create, review, refine and present
  • Coordinate with vendors, technical teams, and bank stakeholders to ensure alignment and timely delivery
  • Oversee execution of system enhancements, integrations, and migrations
  • Manage requirement gathering, gap analysis, and documentation (BRD, FSD, UAT plans)
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal governance
  • Support SIT/UAT cycles and post-go-live stabilization
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior functional analysts
  • Act as the primary point of contact for cross-functional teams and external partners

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Finance, or related field
  • 5–12 years of experience in core banking transformation or functional consulting
  • Strong knowledge of platforms like Temenos, Finacle, CGI or Flexcube
  • Proven experience in vendor management, project execution, and bank coordination
  • Familiarity with BPMN, API integrations, and system architecture
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in leading multi-country or regional banking projects
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks and risk management
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
  • Certification in project management or business analysis is a plus
