Position Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and development of electrical systems for battery modules, packs, and high-voltage boxes. This role involves creating innovative solutions, ensuring design accuracy, and providing technical support throughout the product lifecycle, from concept to production and customer application.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development: Lead the design of high and low voltage electrical systems for battery modules, packs, and high-voltage boxes. Develop detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts using industry-standard software tools (e.g., SolidWorks Electrical, AutoCAD).
  • Project Execution: Translate customer requirements into technical designs, ensuring alignment with project goals. Initiate and participate in design review meetings, addressing technical challenges and ensuring design feasibility.
  • Documentation and BOM Management: Prepare and release design drawings, BOMs, technical agreements, and product specifications. Support the creation of production and quality control documents.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Guide sample assembly, conduct performance testing (DVP), and analyze test data. Resolve technical issues during prototyping and production.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate on production process development, tooling design, and equipment requirements. Analyze and improve production methods, addressing technical and quality issues.
  • Supplier Collaboration: Communicate technical requirements to suppliers, participate in supplier qualification, and oversee component validation. Resolve technical issues related to outsourced parts.
  • Innovation and Optimization: Research and evaluate new technologies, materials, and components. Propose design improvements and cost-saving measures, ensuring compliance with change management processes.
  • Technical Support: Provide internal and external technical support, including customer installation guidance, after-sales assistance, and resolution of quality complaints.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Participate in internal and external meetings and training sessions. Contribute to intellectual property applications and technical documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical design for battery systems or electric vehicles, with a strong understanding of battery system architecture, BMS working principles, and battery control strategies.
  • Proficient in using a 2D design software for creating electrical drawings and capable of basic operations with a 3D design software.
  • Familiarity with CAN communication protocols, CAN message analysis, and operation of electrical testing and CAN diagnostic tools.
  • Knowledge of battery system production processes, quality control methods, and related equipment.
  • Experience with APQP, DFMEA, and CP documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in English and Chinese is preferred.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Timeliness and accuracy of design deliverables (drawings, BOMs, etc.).
  • Contribution to process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Number of patents filed.
  • Timeliness in resolving technical issues.
  • Coverage and effectiveness of new product testing and validation.
  • Quality and stability of design changes.
