Our client is a leading high-growth venture capital in Asia, providing debt capital to innovative, sponsor-backed technology companies. With strong backing from prominent financial entities and a presence across Southeast Asia, they are looking to hire an Investment Associate to join their Investment Team.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will develop and maintain networks within the start-up, corporate, and investor communities to promote our direct lending solutions. You will identify and pursue new collaboration opportunities and contribute to market education efforts, while continuously monitoring the tech and venture capital sectors for strategic insights. You will form independent assessments of potential investments, evaluating the quality of businesses, financial health, growth potential, and key risks. This includes analyzing financial data, collateral, and other assets of prospective companies to gauge credit risk and investor interest.

Your responsibilities will also include preparing credit memos for new loans and exceptions, and presenting these to investment/credit committees. You will independently draft term sheets and assist in the preparation and negotiation of legal loan documents. Ensuring deal closures and capital disbursements are in line with our policies and procedures is key. Additionally, you will collect and analyze monthly financial and business performance data from portfolio companies, monitor loan covenant compliance, and develop action plans to address any compliance issues.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have minimum 4 years of experience in venture capital/private equity firm. Having experience in investing in series A to B stages and venture debt would be an advantage. You should be proficient in financial statement analysis and able to communicate effectively in writing. A self-motivated, curious, and open-minded approach is essential, with a willingness to explore new business models and ideas. Excellent networking skills, along with strong communication, organizational, and presentation abilities, are also required.
