Roles & Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities
  • Topsides Engineering Management - To Deliver FPSO Topsides engineering within budget, schedule and quality.
  • Leadership to Topsides Engineering Team - A high Performing Topsides Engineering Team to deliver consistent engineering design across all Topside Modules and different detailed Engineering Sub-contractors.
  • Setup of all Engineering and Design Systems - A robust engineering Execution platform for Delivery of Detailed Engineering meeting all contractual requirements.
  • Management of Changes - Implementation of engineering change management for the topside engineering post design freeze in all disciplines including communication , tracking and approval by the relevant stakeholders.
  • Compliance - Compliance with company standards, Client standards, Class Society rules, regulatory requirements, codes and standards and company code of conduct.
  • Communication - Conduct engineering meetings internally, with sub-contractors, with Client and other external agencies, prepare minutes of meetings. Prepare Topside Engineering progress report.
  • People Management - Motivate the Topside Engineering tea, and sub-contractors team to perform, provide performance feedback , forecast and manage engineering resources on the project.
  • Topside Engineering Management - Develop topside engineering manning plan, engineering software budget, third part study budget, approve topsides engineering related variation orders from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Engineering Resources - Lead in forecasting and mobilizing engineering and design resources for the Topside Engineering Team in the project.
  • Problem Solving - Lead in developing solutions to complex topside problems by analysing, interpreting and evaluation various precedents and data. Shall be capable of interfacing with Clients on problem Solving
  • HSQ - ensure identification and integration of Safety and quality requirements in the design to ensure safe operability and maintainability. Be topsides engineering representative for any quality issues or NCRS raised during systems audits on engineering tea,.
  • Engineering Reviews - Ensure all applicable engineering reviews of the projects for topside are conducted and closed out in a timely manner
  • Decision Making - Incumbent shall be capable of making timely engineering decision in case multiple valid solutions to challenges are generated, based on sound engineering practices and project objectives.
  • Topside Engineering - To be adequately familiar with the key activities and needs of all engineering disciplines in Topside Engineering and how these activities interact and are sequenced and their implications.
  • Dispute Resolution - To be able to provide leadership to the topside tea, in resolving disputes among numerous stakeholder who may have different focus and priorities, both internal and external.
  • Risk Assessment - Lead Topsides Engineering Risk Assessment in the project and ensure close out of the actions related to Topsides Engineering risks.
  • Lesson Learnt - Implement Lesson learnt from previous project for Topsides Engineering and also ensure close out of the actions related to Topsides engineering task
  • Subcontractor Management - The incumbent shall be capable of managing one or more Topside Detailed Engineering Subcontractors appointed on the project including their cost , quality and schedule performance.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering with minimum 20 years experience in onshore/offshore Oil and gas area or FPSO line(s) or MS Degrees plus minimum 18 years relevant experience / Diploma holders having more than 25 years experience with additional qualification
  • Adequate knowledge of all interfaces between Topside and Marine Engineering , facilities/systems of FPSO and working of all Process, Mechanical , Piping, Structure, Electrical and Telecom, Instrumentation Marine engineering
  • Have adequate knowledge of design codes and regulatory requirements EPCI project.
  • Familiar with use of Software , Database systems related to Engineering Functions
  • Knowledge of competing and alternative technologies.
  • Must understand and interpret total project life cycle cost and benefits as well as their implications during FEED, and EPCI phases of project.
  • Ability to organise meeting and liaise with class and client team to resolve issues
  • Ability to conduct performance assessment of Topsides Engineering Coordinators and Lead Engineers.
