Roles & Responsibilities

1. Role Description


The Boat Captain plays a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of vessel operations, crew management, customer service, safety and maintenance to ensure the success and profitability of chartering services while upholding high standards of professionalism and safety.



2. Specific Responsibilities


Individual to be involved in:

1. Responsible for safely operating the vessel during charters.

2. Ensuring the safety of passengers, crew and the vessel.

3. Planning and executing the vessel’s route.

4. Supervising and managing the crew onboard.

5. Overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of the vessel.

6. Responsible for handling unexpected challenges or issues that may arise during charters.

7. Keeping accurate records of voyages, maintenance activities, crew certifications and other relevant documents.


3. Competencies

1. Proficient knowledge of maritime navigation techniques including chart reading, GPS navigation systems and radar operation.

2. Strong understanding of safety protocols and emergency procedures at sea.

3. Strong problem-solving abilities to address technical issues, navigate unexpected challenges at sea and make sound decisions under pressure.
