Roles & Responsibilities

The Channel Sales Specialist plays a pivotal role in driving sales and expanding market presence within the pet supply industry. They are responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets through various channels such as retail stores, e-commerce platforms, distributors, and wholesalers. This role requires a deep understanding of the pet supply market, customer needs, and effective communication and negotiation skills.


Key Responsibilities


  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new channel partners including retail stores, online platforms, distributors, and wholesalers. Develop strong relationships with existing partners to maximize sales opportunities and ensure alignment with company objectives.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies and tactics to achieve revenue targets and expand market share within assigned channels. Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop promotional campaigns, product launches, and marketing materials tailored to specific channels. Provide training and support to channel partners to ensure effective product positioning and promotion.
  • Monitor sales performance, track key metrics, and generate regular reports to evaluate channel effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. Forecast sales projections and inventory requirements to optimize supply chain management.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with channel partners including pricing, discounts, promotions, and contractual agreements. Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders to understand their needs, address concerns, and provide exceptional customer service. Resolve any issues or disputes in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, product development, supply chain, and customer service to align sales strategies with overall business objectives. Provide input into product development and pricing strategies based on market feedback and channel requirements.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify market trends, customer preferences, and competitive threats. Use insights to refine sales strategies and differentiate products in the market.

Job Requirement


  • Proven experience in channel sales, business development, or account management within the pet supply industry.
  • Strong understanding of sales principles, marketing techniques, and channel management strategies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
  • Passion for pets and familiarity with pet supply products and market trends.
