Responsibilities of Regional CIO

Regional CIO is responsible for leading the Information Technology department in Asia. This role involves overseeing all IT operations, systems, and infrastructure to ensure the effective & secure delivery of technology services and working closely with Senior Management in Asia to develop IT strategies, policies and procedures that support the organization's overall business objectives.

  • Lead a team of regional IT professional in directing and control of all information systems & technology activities in Asia, and in delivering technical solutions to the business and support functions.
  • Lead all applications / development activities, database management and computer operations on a regional basis.
  • Provide direction to regional systems planning and systems integration efforts.
  • Establish overall systems and technology plans on regional IT issues.
  • Provide direction on regional telecommunication activities.
  • Plan & develop system - related budgets and annual strategic plans for the regional desk.
  • Liaise with overseas management and business units on all systems related issues.
  • Work closely with business partners to initiate new ideas and programs, evaluate needs and provide support and consultation services that will complement the business development.
  • Act as the liaison with peer organization, key industry groups, and associations related to technology and system activities.
  • Liaise with Tokyo HQ to gather information for the provision of management reports and IT development schedules.

Responsibilities of Regional Head of Operations,

Regional Head of Operations is responsible for managing and ensuring that efficient and effective operational processes and procedures are in place for the day-to-day trade settlement operations in Asia. This role will work closely with the Senior Management in Asia to develop strategies in improving operational performance and achieving key performance indicators.

  • Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  • Lead and manage a team of operations staff by providing guidance and support to ensure team goals are met.
  • Monitor and analyze operational performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination and communication across the organization.
  • Oversee budgeting and resource allocation to support day-to day operations and goals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including vendors, suppliers, and partners.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the operations team.

Requirements

  • Degree in Information Technology
  • At least 15 years of managerial experience in IT including minimum 2 years of experience in managing IT & Operations transformation at regional level in a Financial sector.
  • Good working experience and knowledge of IT & business operations in the capital markets sector
  • Multiple IT & Operations project management experience like AWS cloud migration, equity trading, cyber security system etc on a regional basis will be an added advantage.
  • Good track record and experience in leading & managing large IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructure across various technologies for the Region
  • Proficiency in written and spoken Japanese language to liaise with Tokyo HQ on implementing regional IT & Operations strategies & initiatives for the Asia & Oceania region.
  • Excellent communication & stakeholders management skills
