Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation's Renewables, Utilities & Infrastructure (RUI) team is looking to hire a Director for originating and executing transactions with focus on client coverage across Asia. The RUI team provides lending and advisory solutions across various asset including Solar, Wind, Geothermal, Hydro, Roads and Airports, with increasing focus on ESG related business and energy transition.Key Roles/Responsibilities:

Deal origination:Maintain close relationship with existing clients and develop new relationshipsTake responsibility in covering specifics markets and identify new opportunities across the regionSector coverage banking activities including marketing, pitching and providing tailored financial solutions to clients by leveraging on industry knowledge and expertisePrepare financial proposals including term sheets and/or presentationsIdentity and monitor market developments and opportunitiesLiaise with various internal, external stakeholders (banks, advisors, legal firms etc.) and clients as necessaryDeal execution:Review/Preparation of credit paper and other related materials as necessaryAssist with the documentation process with support from internal and external legal counsel as necessaryReview financial models and guide junior staff on the sameAssist in advisory mandates when selected and prepare materials for client with regards to deal executionAssist in the negotiation process on dealsGuide junior members on origination and execution processJob Requirement

Bachelor's degreeGood written and verbal communications skillsAt least 10 years of relevant work experience, preferably in Sector Coverage / M&A / project finance / structured finance. Experience in Sector Banking role would be viewed favourablyWork experience in the Energy and Infrastructure space with direct experience in Renewable energyGood understanding of loan documentationGood transaction structuring skills and understanding of credit processFinancial modelling skillsAbility to work independently on jobs assignedAbility to guide and mentor junior membersGood client network and relationship with other sector participantsPositive personality with strong work ethicsIndependent, self-motivated and strong team player with ability to work in multicultural team
