The School of Physical andMathematical Sciences at NTU offers multidisciplinary academicprograms that provide students with a wide-ranging and up-to-dateeducation. They offer undergraduate training leading to BSc (Hons)and graduate training leading to MSc and PhD degrees.

We invite applications for anAssociate / Full Professor position specializingin Optimization, Control, and Scientific Computing.We are looking for world-class candidates with expertisein the computational aspects of algorithmic design and a strongfocus on applying these skills to real-world problems. Thesuccessful candidate will be expected to teach both undergraduateand postgraduate courses in applied mathematics, conducthigh-quality research in computation-specific areas of optimizationand its interactions with other domains, such as scientificcomputing and scientific machine learning, and promoteinterdisciplinary collaboration among the disciplines ofmathematics, computer science, and engineering. Candidates withstrong academic portfolios are encouraged to apply. We areparticularly interested in candidates who have extensive experiencein consulting and collaborating with data-related industries suchas AI and cloud computing.

Thecandidates are expectedto:
  • Establish a world-classresearch programme.

  • Secure research funding fromcompetitive grants and industrypartnerships.
  • Mentor and supervise graduatestudents and postdoctoralresearchers.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinaryteams within the university and with externalpartners.
  • Deliver engaging and effectiveteaching to both undergraduate and graduatestudents.
  • Undertake essential administrativeresponsibilities within theSchools.


Requirements:
  • PhDin mathematics or a related subject.
  • Strongresearch record and relevant publications in reputablepeer-reviewed international journals andconferences.
  • A good track record of supervisingresearch staff, postdocs, students, and interns in relevantfields
  • Experienced in cross-disciplinaryresearch initiatives andcollaboration.
  • Demonstrated excellence inresearch, evidenced by a strong publication record in reputablejournals
  • Recognition in the research community,such as invited talks, awards, or memberships in professionalsocieties.
  • Proven ability to secure researchfunding.
