JOB OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-driven Claims Officer to join our team in the car park industry. In this unique role, you will be responsible for handling both accident claims and monitoring tailgating incidents within our parking facilities. This dual responsibility requires a strong attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to manage both claim investigations and security enforcement, ensuring a safe and smooth operation of our car parks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Claims Management
- Process and manage accident claims related to incidents occurring within car park facilities.
- Ensure all necessary documentation is collected and completed for each claim.
Investigation & Reporting
- Conduct thorough investigations of accident claims, gather evidence, and compile detailed reports outlining the nature of the incident.
Liaison
- Communicate effectively with customers, insurance companies, legal teams, and internal departments to resolve claims efficiently.
Customer Support
- Provide clear and empathetic communication with customers, guiding them through the claims process and ensuring a high level of customer service.
Compliance
- Ensure claims are handled in accordance with legal requirements, company policies, and insurance protocols.
Documentation & Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all claims, incidents, and communications. Track claim progress and ensure timely closure.
Dispute Resolution
- Assist in the resolution of disputes related to claims and provide support during arbitration or legal proceedings when necessary.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify and suggest improvements to processes, documentation, or training to enhance the claims management process.
Tailgating Monitoring & Prevention
- Monitor car park access points using surveillance equipment to detect and prevent tailgating (unauthorized entry of vehicles following another vehicle too closely).
- Investigate and record tailgating incidents, issuing warnings or penalties where necessary.
- Analyse patterns of tailgating behaviour and work on strategies to reduce such incidents, ensuring safety and security.
Customer Service
- Provide clear guidance to customers regarding the claims process and tailgating incidents.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints in a professional and empathetic manner.
- Ensure that all customers experience a smooth and safe parking experience.
Collaboration & Reporting
- Work closely with internal teams, including customer service, security, and insurance providers.
- Prepare periodic reports on accident claims and tailgating incidents for management review.
- Provide recommendations for process improvements related to both accident claims and security measures.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in accident claims management, insurance, or a similar field.
- Experience in security monitoring or incident prevention (tailgating experience a plus).
- Knowledge of the car park industry, access control systems, and parking technology is a strong advantage.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, insurance companies, and internal teams.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and claims management software; experience with security monitoring systems is a plus.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Experience in security enforcement, especially in monitoring access control systems.
- Conflict resolution skills and ability to de-escalate challenging situations.
- Ability to interpret CCTV footage and assess accident or security incidents.
- Strong problem-solving skills and proactive in identifying areas for improvement.
- Knowledge of relevant insurance policies and accident investigation techniques.
