We are looking for a Marine HR Manager to join our company.


As a Marine HR Manager, you will be at the helm of ensuring our fleet is manned with qualified, certified, and fit personnel. You’ll lead a dedicated Marine HR team and oversee planning, compliance, budgeting, and client relationships for an assigned fleet. Your leadership will directly impact seafarer satisfaction, operational excellence, and client trust.


Wilhelmsen Ship management is the backbone of global maritime operations, ensuring vessels operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with international standards. It involves overseeing the technical, crew, and operational aspects of ships, including maintenance, crewing, safety protocols, and cost management. At Wilhelmsen Ship Management, we specialize in delivering innovative and reliable ship management solutions, supporting vessel owners and operators worldwide to achieve optimal performance and sustainability in the ever-evolving maritime industry.


Who you will report to:

The Marine HR Manager will report to Global Head of Marine HR.


What you will be doing:

· Manage HR matters for manning vessels with qualified personnel.

· Enhance seafarer welfare and satisfaction initiatives.

· Oversee placement activities and ensure seafarer compliance.

· Decide wage levels aligned with market trends and agreements.

· Establish budgets and monitor P&I cases for assigned vessels.

· Conduct vessel visits and lead officer conferences.

· Develop recruitment strategies tailored to client needs.

· Contribute to Marine HR KPIs, resource planning, and process improvements.

· Identify training requirements for seafarer competency development.

· Lead special projects and business development initiatives.

· Leading a team of 5 and crewing management of about 30 vessels

· Drive engagement and productivity within your team.

· Represent WSM in audits, client meetings, and emergency responses.

What you will bring:

· 5+ years in maritime operations and/or HR, with senior leadership roles in the maritime industry.

· Experience from senior leadership roles in maritime industry

· Excellent English communication skills

· Self-motivated and result orientated.

· Proactive and possess ability to anticipate issues to facilitate preventive measures.

· Strong understanding of maritime HR, compliance, and industry standards.
