Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven individual to join our team as the Director of Dermatology, Cosmetics, and Personal Care Business Unit. As the business unit head, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations, strategic development, and overall success of the division. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in dermatology, consumer health and personal care clinical trials and global operations, and business development along with proven global leadership and managerial skills.


Key Responsibilities:


Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute strategic business plans with Expecto Health Science’s CEO for the dermatology, consumer health, and personal care unit in alignment with company objectives.
  • Provide visionary leadership to drive innovation, growth, and market presence.

Operational Management:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the business unit to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the unit's performance and implement improvements as needed.
  • Responsible for overseeing clinical trials. Respond to clients’ request, prepare study designs, planning and quotations.
  • Serve as resource to the organization, to the network of investigators as well as acting as the key person for any interactions with sponsors.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the clinical trials are conducted as per the requirements of local regulations and hereafter responsible for overseeing communication with regulatory bodies.

Human Resources and Team Development/Leadership:

  • Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing and strongly motivated team of professionals for conduct of studies.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment to encourage teamwork and individual growth.
  • Responsible for looking for network of investigators for conducting clinical trials and engaging with KOLs in the region.

Business Development & Client Engagement:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and ensuring exceptional service delivery.
  • Collaborate with clients to identify opportunities for business expansion and improvement.
  • Identifying and pursuing opportunities for business growth within the APAC region, with a focus on enhancing revenue streams and market presence.
  • Leverage existing strategic alliances in the region to maximize the benefits of these partnerships, driving sustainable business growth.
  • Take ownership of identifying new business prospects and expansion avenues within the dynamic APAC region.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our efforts align with the company's overall objectives, driving consistent growth.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities and provide insights and recommendations for business growth and competitiveness.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that all projects within the division meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and maintain rigorous quality assurance processes.

Financial and Administrative Oversight:

  • Manage the budget for the dermatology, consumer health, and personal care unit.
  • Work towards revenue and profitability targets while maintaining cost efficiency.
  • Manage the staff, clients, the budget, the company’s assets and all other company resources to make the best use of them and increase the company’s profitability.
  • Be the privileged point of contact with clients, suppliers and vendors.
  • Execute all expenditures after approval from the CEO.
  • Execute any cognate duties as assigned by the CEO.

Experience & Qualifications:

· Master’s degree in Life Sciences (Biomedical Sciences/Pharmacy/Biotechnology)

  • 10+ years of proven experience in leadership roles within dermatology, Cosmetics or personal care-focused clinical trials/CROs/Biotech start-ups.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results and meet business objectives.

· Strong business acumen, a collaborative mindset, and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey ideas, proposals, and strategies.


Other Skills/Abilities:

· Strong appreciation and understanding of sensitive financial issues, financial acumen and the ability to apply this to business and operational planning.

· A strong start-up mindset that is adaptable, creative, innovative and forward thinking.

· Good leadership experience in team and business management and development.

· Ability in building and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally.

· Demonstrable knowledge of handling external relations both communication to a general audience and the enhancement of relations with specific partners.

· Proven experience and understanding of the potential of new technologies in business applications.

· Good people management skills and experience in leading, performance management, motivating and developing diverse team members.
