BrightNight is a U.S.-based renewable independent power producer (IPP) platform focused on developing, constructing and operating hybrid and dispatchable renewable plants in the U.S. and fast growing APAC markets.


Job Description

  • Investment Strategy Development: Collaborate with senior leadership to design and refine the investment strategy for APAC, ensuring alignment with the company’s broader corporate goals and evolving market conditions.
  • Market Analysis & Opportunity Identification: Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to identify high-potential investment opportunities, strategic partnerships, and M&A targets that enhance the company’s regional portfolio.
  • Due Diligence Leadership: Lead comprehensive due diligence processes for potential investments and acquisitions, evaluating financial, operational, and legal aspects of target companies and projects.
  • Financial Modelling & Valuation: Develop and manage complex financial models to assess the valuation, risk, and overall feasibility of projects or acquisitions, supporting informed decision-making.
  • Bid Strategy & Negotiation: Oversee bid strategy development for both NBO/BO stages and Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) bids (including auction and direct bids). Lead the negotiation of terms and conditions in collaboration with legal, financial, and business stakeholders.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal and external advisors (e.g., legal counsel, financial advisors) and internal teams (e.g., operations, wind, tax) to ensure successful execution of M&A transactions during NBO/BO stages.
  • Investment Memoranda & Presentations: Prepare high-quality investment memoranda, strategic analysis, and presentations for key stakeholders, supporting global investment decision-making processes.
  • Strategic Analysis & Business Planning: Contribute to portfolio analysis and strategic business planning for the group, providing insights to guide long-term growth and portfolio optimization.
  • Greenfield Project Analysis: Evaluate the economic risks and strategic options of greenfield projects, providing detailed reports to inform strategic decisions.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor junior team members, ensuring the quality and accuracy of their work. Promote a culture of continuous learning and high performance within the team.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned to support the regional and global investment objectives.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred, industry specific certifications such as CFA are a plus
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in core valuation, mergers & acquisitions (M&A), corporate finance, investment analysis, project development with a strong preference for a background in renewable energy investments.
  • Proven track record in independently sourcing, structuring, and leading high-value investment transactions, particularly within the renewable energy or infrastructure sectors.
  • Deep experience in energy project finance, including a strong understanding of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), energy market regulations, government incentives, and financial structures within the renewable energy landscape.
  • Specific experience in the Energy or Infrastructure sector, particularly renewable energy, is required. Experience working in key APAC markets such as India and the Philippines is highly preferred.
  • Detailed understanding and experience in raising and executing limited recourse financing, including structuring complex financing solutions for renewable energy projects.
