Position Overview:

As a Senior Manager – Battery Pack Design at TVS Motor, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and integration of battery pack systems for electric two-wheelers. Leveraging your expertise in battery pack engineering, vehicle integration, and mechanical design, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance, safe, and cost-effective battery solutions aligned with TVS Motor's electrification strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Battery Pack Design & Development

  • Lead the end-to-end design and development of battery packs for ASEAN, from concept to production, ensuring performance, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Define and optimize battery architecture, including cell selection, module design, and pack integration.
  • Ensure robust thermal management, structural integrity, and manufacturability of battery systems.

2. Vehicle Integration & Testing

  • Work closely with vehicle integration teams to ensure seamless battery-pack-to-vehicle compatibility.
  • Conduct DFMEA, performance validation, and durability testing for battery packs in lab and field conditions.
  • Optimize battery mounting, weight distribution, and vibration resistance for enhanced vehicle dynamics.

3. Material & Supplier Collaboration

  • Coordinate with suppliers, cell manufacturers, and material providers to ensure quality and cost efficiency.
  • Evaluate and implement new battery technologies, materials, and processes to enhance performance and sustainability.

4. Compliance & Safety Standards

  • Ensure compliance with automotive and industry standards for battery safety and performance.
  • Work closely with regulatory bodies and certification agencies to meet homologation requirements.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Liaise with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, thermal engineers, and vehicle integration teams to ensure a cohesive development approach.
  • Provide technical inputs to manufacturing, production, and after-sales teams for smooth industrialization and serviceability of battery packs.

Requirements:

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed institution.

Work Experience:

  • Experience in battery pack design and development, vehicle integration, and mechanical engineering from the automotive industry.

Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in battery pack architecture, mechanical design, and thermal management.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant software for battery pack and enclosure design.
  • Experience with DFMEA, DVP&R, crash testing, and mechanical validation.
  • Understanding cell chemistry, BMS integration, and battery thermal modeling.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
