Roles & Responsibilities

About the Role:
The Social Work Associate will work closely with youths residing in an institutional facility focused on community rehabilitation. This role involves designing and implementing programs, providing casework support, managing volunteers, and ensuring effective administrative processes to support the holistic development of the youths.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Programme Management:
    Conduct needs assessments to design and implement tailored programs for youths.
    Develop risk assessments and manage potential risks associated with program activities.
    Plan, lead, and facilitate group programs and interventions.
    Utilize assessment tools to evaluate group work outcomes and measure program effectiveness.
    Design group processes and specialized intervention strategies to address the needs of youths.
    Facilitate therapeutic group sessions, evaluate their impact, and review outcomes for continuous improvement.
  2. Volunteer Management:
    Recruit, engage, and manage volunteers to support hostel programs.
    Collaborate with volunteer partners to enhance program offerings and add value to youth development initiatives.
  3. Casework Support:
    Assist in case management, including preparing for and attending case-related appointments and meetings.
    Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including parents, schools, and community partners.
    Apply restorative practices, such as planning and facilitating restorative circles, and incorporate trauma-informed care principles into interventions.
  4. Administrative Duties:
    Organize and maintain accurate documentation and records.
    Ensure adherence to administrative timelines and reporting requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Diploma in Social Sciences or a related field, with prior experience in mentoring and working with youths.
  • Experience working with at-risk youth is highly advantageous.
  • Strong engagement and facilitation skills to connect effectively with youths and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of social work interventions, social policies, and community engagement practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
