Roles & Responsibilities

One of the oldest nurseries in Singapore, Prince's has 50 years experience in the industry. Started out humbly as a flower shop, Prince's has evolved into a full-fledged landscape design and installation specialist.

The Accounting Executive supports the finance department in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department. The Accounts Executive handles accounts receivable, accounts payable, tax filing, data compilation, billing and payroll. Other duties include working on fixed assets accounting and the monthly and yearly finalisation of accounts for audit purposes. He is expected to assist in the budgeting and forecasting process. The Accounting Executive is required to have a basic understanding of the business structures, operations and financial performance. He may be called on to participate in ad-hoc finance-related projects and systems testing when necessary. He is meticulous and has good management skills.

Job Function

  • Grow potted plants and nursery stock and maintain records on the growing operation.
  • Supervise subordinate personnel in work site and in the proper methods and techniques of planting ornamental plants.
  • Train ground personnel in the techniques of pruning, wound dressing, cavity repair and the cabling and bracing of trees and shrubs.
  • Prepare order for various types of plants and seeds.
  • Conduct inventory, map and label trees and shrubs on work site for instructional and maintenance purposes.
  • Assist in the preparation of maintenance programs for the control of plant diseases and insects.
  • Prepare fertilizer programs for various types of plants.
  • Confer with landscape architect and other personnel in the selection of plants.
  • Manage and lead all channel and distribution of landscaping activities.
  • Develop, define, align and deliver the KPIs with Landscape Department Managers in line with business strategy.
  • Prepare Bill of Quantities, Cost Estimation & Budget, and Material Take off statements reconciliation statement, checking bills and estimation of man hours requirement.
  • Establish robust plan, conduct and review processes with landscaping team to ensure delivery targets are met.
  • Coordinate with internal departments, other project managers at sites, consultants and vendors.
  • Develop a solid and sustainable organization for the business to succeed.
  • Check material list and check drawing list & site organization chart.
  • Liaise with main contractor, subcontractor, supplier and proper handover to customer upon project completion.
  • Approve / endorse final price before sales quote to customers.
  • Take over on the overall management of project, including VO and WO works.
  • Check claims prior to submission to customers.
  • Perform other related duties as required by the Manager

Job Requirements

  • Must have Accounting qualification.
  • Diploma in Horticulture, Agriculture or related fields.
  • Knowledgeable in ornamental horticulture in all phases.
  • Good knowledge of plant propagation and culturation.
  • Considerable knowledge of the principles of Nursery Management.
  • Strong supervision skills
  • Knowledge of the elementary principles of landscaping
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • With at least 1 year of experience
