Roles & Responsibilities

Avaloq Developers are responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining solutions within the Avaloq banking software platform. They work closely with business analysts, project managers, and other developers to deliver high-quality, robust, and scalable solutions that meet business requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of the Avaloq platform, development tools, and best practices, as well as a solid understanding of banking processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development & Implementation: Develop, test, and implement Avaloq configurations,mcustomizations, and extensions using the Avaloq Development Workbench (ADW), including:
    • Developing and maintaining Avaloq Script (ABL) code.
    • Designing and implementing user interfaces (UI) and user experience (UX) enhancements.
    • Configuring and customizing Avaloq modules and functionalities.
    • Integrating Avaloq with other systems using APIs and web services.
    • Performing unit testing and integration testing.
  • Analysis & Design: Collaborate with business analysts to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications. This includes:
    • Participating in requirements gathering sessions.
    • Creating technical design documents and specifications.
    • Proposing solutions and alternatives to meet business needs.
  • Maintenance & Support: Provide ongoing maintenance and support for existing Avaloq applications.
  • This includes:
    • Troubleshooting and resolving issues.
    • Performing code reviews and ensuring code quality.
    • Participating in the release management process.
    • Providing support to end-users.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including:
    • Functional specifications.
    • Technical design documents.
    • User manuals.
    • Release notes.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with stakeholders. This includes:
    • Participating in team meetings and discussions.
    • Providing regular updates on progress.
    • Collaborating with other developers and testers.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest Avaloq features, technologies, and best practices. This includes:
    • Participating in training courses and workshops.
    • Reading technical documentation and online resources.
    • Contributing to internal knowledge sharing initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in Avaloq development, including ABL scripting, configuration, and customization.
  • Strong understanding of the Avaloq Development Workbench (ADW).
  • Experience with various Avaloq modules (e.g., CRM, Portfolio Management, Lending, Payments).
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with database technologies (e.g., Oracle).
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Avaloq certification.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of banking processes and regulations.
  • Experience with integration technologies (e.g., APIs, web services).
  • Experience with performance tuning and optimization.
