Retail Assistant/ Supervisor / Manager – Bookstore (Islandwide)

We are hiring passionate and customer-focused individuals to join our bookstore team If you love books and enjoy interacting with customers, we have multiple roles available:

1. Retail Assistant / Senior Retail Assistant

Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers with book recommendations and inquiries
  • Handle cashiering, payment transactions, and daily sales reports
  • Assist in changing price tags, stock-taking and inventory management
  • Restock books, stationeries, and other merchandise
  • Maintain store cleanliness and display arrangements
  • Support promotional activities and store events

Requirements:

  • Minimum GCE 'N' / 'O' Level or equivalent
  • No experience required (training will be provided)
  • Able to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays
  • Passionate about books and customer service

2. Retail Supervisor

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily store operations and ensure smooth workflow
  • Supervise and motivate retail assistants to achieve sales targets
  • Manage cashiering, sales reports, and stock replenishment
  • Provide excellent customer service and handle customer complaints professionally
  • Coordinate in-store promotions and marketing activities
  • Assist in staff training and performance management

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of retail experience, preferably in bookstores or similar industries
  • leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently and lead a team
  • Comfortable working retail shifts, including weekends and holidays

3. Retail Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Manage overall store operations, including sales, inventory, and staff performance
  • Drive sales and implement strategies to achieve store targets
  • Lead and mentor a team of supervisors and retail staff
  • Monitor stock levels, coordinate with suppliers, and oversee merchandise planning
  • Handle customer relations, resolve escalated issues, and ensure excellent service standards
  • Prepare reports on sales performance, staff productivity, and operational efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, and safety regulations

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of retail management experience, preferably in bookstores or related industries
  • Ability to handle customer complaints and resolve them effectively
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Willing to work on a shift basis, including weekends and public holidays
