JobDescription
- Define anddevelop the strategic plan for Events Office including keyobjectives, opportunities and measurableKPIs
- Leverage resources across the University,determining the core team and variable resources needed for eachevent; and review staffing levels to ensure that serviceexpectations and operational needs aremet
- Adopt full costing model for all eventsorganized and optimize costs through demand aggregation procurementto minimize wastage, generate savings and drive accountability fordelivery of events-related services across theUniversity
- Perform regular review of the EventsOffice model to drive greater efficiency, smarter work practicesand effective resources allocation
- Work withstakeholders to define strategic goals and key performanceindicators for each event including developing success measures andevaluating performance against objectives to deliver desiredoutcomes and implement organizational changes wherenecessary
- Coach, mentor and leadcross-functional events team to ensure high staff engagement andstrong performance in achieving deliverables and all associatedevent goals / metrics, promoting team synergy and building positiveteam spirit
- Develop appropriate communicationsplan including event details, pertinent highlights, budget andother key issues
- Develop general eventmanagement policies, guiding principles and standard operatingprocedures for proper execution ofevents
Requirements
- Universitygraduate with at least 10 years of experience in planning andorganizing successful large-scale and high-profileevents
- Visionary and inspiring, demonstratingpassion in achieving business success and high levels of emotionaland cultural intelligence
- Possess excellentunderstanding of the role, value, impact and contributions of theEvents Office toward the University's overall mission andobjectives
- Demonstrate strong and creativeleadership with entrepreneurial skills, high level of ownership, aneye for details and commitment to achieve and maintain the higheststandards
- Articulate, forward-looking and highenergy individual with strong ethical standards, professionalimage, sound judgement and impeccable writingskills
- Strategic people leader with experienceworking in a matrixed organization and cultivating strongrelationships with teams and leaders throughout the university,demonstrating finesse when interacting with senior authority andability to deal with people at all levels effectively in complexand demanding circumstances
- Exceptional projectmanagement skills with ability to multi-task and manage extremelytight timelines in a fast-pacedenvironment
- Possess strong financial managementskills including budgeting, forecasting and analysis, to developprojected expenditure and track performance against eventbudget
- Excellent understanding of the latestevent technologies to be deployed including the use of integrateddigital and social media pre-event and on-sitecommunications
- Build high performing teams,developing and empowering staff to define key success metrics aswell as drive efficiencies and process improvements towardachieving those metrics as part of the overallevents
