Roles & Responsibilities

Responsible for the global technical performance of Seaco's container fleet, focusing on technical advisory, cost management, performance measurement, and quality management. Primary emphasis is on Dry and Refrigerated containers, aiming to meet and exceed company expectations. Maintains strong relationships with regional operations, depots, and factories to ensure efficient execution of technical processes and high-quality work. Provides global technical support to customers.

Reports to: Technical Director, Global

Key Tasks and Activities:

  • Establish and implement corporate technical policies for Dry and Refrigerated containers and other equipment to meet industrial, legislative, and company standards.
  • Conduct internal and external training sessions, including for depots, inspection companies, and customers, to ensure effective execution of Seaco operational procedures and adherence to corporate policies.
  • Evaluate the latest refrigeration technologies, machinery models, specifications, and regulations to advise the company.
  • Provide technical support for all matters related to Dry and Refrigerated containers, including technical consultation, regulatory advice, physical container surveys, and dispute resolution.
  • Offer global customer support on Refrigerated containers and other equipment-related matters.
  • Review key Maintenance and Repair (M&R) performance in close collaboration with regional operations teams.
  • Conduct depot audits to ensure Seaco's equipment is repaired and maintained up to required standards.
  • Manage repair cost performance by analyzing repair expenses and ensuring accurate repair estimation by depots.
  • Work closely with regional operations teams to ensure compliance of Seaco's Dry and Refrigerated containers and other equipment with local and international regulatory requirements.
  • Review all modification work, warranty claims, and technical aspects of Dry and Refrigerated containers and other equipment as needed.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with vendors and customers across all regions.
  • Source, negotiate, and develop the spare parts supply chain to ensure effective quality and cost management.
  • Lead corporate improvement projects related to product and technical policies.
  • Travel to depots, customers, and Seaco offices worldwide as required.

EMS, Operations, Sales and Marketing, Depot Service Providers, Customers, Inspection Service Providers.

Qualifications Required:

  • A recognized higher education qualification in engineering or relevant industry experience in a technical/operational role equivalent to a degree.
  • Experience in Refrigerated Container engineering or maintenance and repair operations, including operations processes, cost analysis, and business management.
  • Experience in Refrigerated container operations and technical matters, particularly with refrigeration systems and reefer machinery, is advantageous.

Key Skills/Knowledge Required:

  • Min 8 years' experience and related working knowledge.
  • Good IT literacy and competency in Microsoft Office applications. SAP knowledge a plus.
  • Good communication skills in English and Mandarin, written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of different ISO Container types.
  • Knowledge of ISO-Cedex and IICL standards.
  • Negotiation and basic project management skills.
  • Strong in operational cost analysis, cost management, control, measuring and monitoring.

Strong in operational cost analysis, material costing, engineering / operations experience required, preferably area of cost management, operations process and business management.
