Roles & Responsibilities

The Technical Manager is responsible for overseeing all technical operations of the exhibition, including AVL (Audio, Video, and Lighting), mechanical systems, show control, rigging, and automation. This role ensures seamless daily operations, technical troubleshooting, and efficient coordination with cross-functional teams. The Technical Manager leads the technical team, working closely with Production, Operations, and external vendors to maintain a high-quality technical experience for guests.

This position requires broad technical expertise, strong leadership, and problem-solving skills to manage both the setup and dismantling of technical systems while ensuring smooth operational efficiency.

Role Responsibilities
  • Oversee the installation phase, ensuring all technical systems, including AVL, mechanical, and automation, are correctly set up.
  • Lead and train the technical team to manage daily start-up, shut-down, troubleshooting, and maintenance of all technical systems.
  • Track, document, and compile weekly technical reports on equipment performance, faults, and system errors.
  • Manage spare parts inventory for all technical equipment, ensuring availability of serviceable components for uninterrupted operations.
  • Work closely with the Operations Team to ensure a seamless technical experience for guests and staff.
  • Supervise the de-installation phase, ensuring all technical equipment is dismantled, accounted for, and properly packed for shipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards for all technical systems, including AVL, automation, rigging, and special effects.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and contractors to arrange for technical support, repairs, and equipment procurement.
  • Identify and resolve technical challenges that may arise, providing effective solutions in real-time.
Required Skills and Experience
  • 8+ years of experience in technical operations, event/exhibition technology, or live entertainment production.
  • Strong leadership and team management experience in a technical environment.
  • Broad technical expertise in AVL, automation, rigging, mechanical systems, and show control.
  • Experience in exhibition, theme park, theatre, or live event technical management.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for both AVL and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and manuals.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills to work with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience with installing, maintaining, and repairing technical systems.
  • Flexibility to work non-standard hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by the exhibition schedule.
