Commissioning Compliance Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates with classification society and Brazilian regulatory compliance consultants to achieve the required project deliverables related to classification and regulatory compliance
  • Coordinates and manages FPSO and Project regulatory requirements stemming from regulatory bodies (Authorities, Flag State, Class, etc.)
  • Leads, coordinates and manages the execution of the Regulatory Compliance Matrix, and other deliverables for FPSO Projects
  • Point of contact with project disciplines, Class and Flag state representatives and surveyors while executing Regulatory Compliance Matrix (Class, Flag and Brazilian Regulations)
  • Communicates with the project team and instil awareness of regulatory requirement
  • Interfaces with project team, client, Class, and authorities during execution of the Regulatory Compliance Plan and Matrix
  • Works with project team to deliver a regulatory-compliant FPSO and ensure Project complies with all applicable regulatory requirements
  • Facilitates the review, identification, and implementation of regulatory requirements along with Classification society and Brazilian Regulatory consultant for inclusion into project design, specification, and project activities
  • Ensure that documents and reports comply with Brazilian requirements
  • Supports the compilation and handover of Dossiers to the FPSO owner
  • Interfaces with authorities, project disciplines/functions and client reps for acquisition of permits, licenses and consents as needed
  • Establishes vendor scope of works for authorities-related approvals, activities, and inspections
  • Initiates preparation of all Class-required Manuals and Plans as per regulatory compliance matrix
  • Formulates and records Flag state exemption applications and Class Rule deviation applications
  • Champions/expedites the closure of Open Class/authorities/Brazilian regulatory comments (Technical and Survey) comments

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture / Marine and Offshore / Mechanical Engineering or related engineering disciplines
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience, preferably in the offshore and marine industry with Brazilian FPSO
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to multi-task and able to work in a fast-paced environment
