Position Overview

As a company dedicated to applied research and development, we are committed to driving technological innovation and staying ahead of industry trends. We are seeking a highly motivated and resourceful Innovation Specialist to join our team.

In this role, you will be instrumental in identifying and evaluating global market trends, emerging technologies, and innovative companies. Your expertise in technology scouting, market research, and trend analysis will support our clients' evolving needs and contribute to the company's innovation strategy and growth. You will work closely with both clients and internal teams to identify opportunities and shape strategic directions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, build, and manage effective channels to source innovative companies with solutions, and technologies relevant to the AI and other emerging domains.
  • Identify and evaluate potential companies for collaboration, ensuring alignment with internal capabilities and strategic goals.
  • Conduct in-depth research using a variety of tools and database to analyse emerging technology trends, startups, established players, patent activity, and industry shifts across regions.
  • Present research findings and insights in clear and actionable reports to support decision-making.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with innovation ecosystem partners, including venture capital firms, accelerators, incubators, research institutes, industry bodies, and government agencies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (R&D, partnerships, product development) to shape and support innovation and advisory projects.
  • Actively participate in meetings and strategy sessions to showcase research outcome and support decision-making processes.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Business, Economics, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in an innovation-focused role, including delivery or support of advisory or consulting projects.
  • Strong understanding of emerging technologies, applications, and industry players.
  • Proficient in using research platforms and databases to analyse market, company and technology data.
  • Well-connected within Singapore's ICT, start-up and/or R&D ecosystem.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with the ability to deliver insights to diverse technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; able to draw meaningful conclusions from complex information.
  • Self-motivated, curious, and passionate about innovation and emerging tech.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity and existing relationships within innovation ecosystems locally and internationally.
  • Experience with industry-specific research methodologies.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in design thinking principles, and ability to independently design and facilitate workshops.
