Job Description:

Responsible for the scheduling of patients for surgery in Major Surgery Suite through the efficient coordination and optimization of resources. He/She plays an important role in ensuring availability of resources in Major Surgery Suite.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the scheduling of patients for surgery in Major Surgery Suite.
  • Responsible for the coordination of resources, ie. operating theatre, schedules of surgeons/assistants/equipment in Major Surgery Suite.
  • Monitor and ensure availability of resources in Major Surgery Suite, so as to enable timely decisions to be made regarding resource management.
  • Work closely with nursing staff to ensure seamless operating theatre management in Major Surgery Suite.
  • Work closely with Bed Management Unit to coordinate, communicate and execute the necessary actions for bed placement and in the event of tight bed situation.
  • Undertake any ad-hoc projects and duties as assigned by Senior Nurse Manager

Requirements:

  • Recognized Diploma in any discipline or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience in healthcare industries preferably in bed management and operating room scheduling.
  • Possess knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Good command of English.
  • Customer-oriented with a pleasant disposition and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literate.
