Group Technology and Operations (T&O) enables and empowers the bank with an efficient, nimble and resilient infrastructure through a strategic focus on productivity, quality & control, technology, people capability and innovation. In Group T&O, we manage the majority of the Bank's operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through our multiple banking delivery channels.

Job Responsibility

As a Cloud Data Engineer, you'll be part of the team which builds a cloud data platform that runs computation and AI/ML jobs in the cloud as well as supports data scientist in their cloud journey.

• Design, deploy and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable cloud-based data infrastructure on platforms like AWS or GCP.
• Implement best practices for data storage, processing, and retrieval to ensure optimal performance and cost efficiency.
• Design and implement key components for highly scalable, distributed data collection and analysis system built for handling petabytes of data in the cloud.
• Experimentation to assess new solution paths to address AI/ML requirements.
• Provide expert solutions in field of Cloud Native big-data application design and development in Data Platform.
• Work with architects of the analytics system and help in adopting best practices in backend infrastructure and distributed computing, that supports Machine Learning and GenerativeAI workloads.
• Implement core practice of Agile, leveraging cloud-native architecture patterns and using Test Driven Development, continuous integration/continuous delivery.
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new cloud technologies to maximize analytical system performance.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or software or engineering related.
• 8+ years of proven software development experience.
• Enterprise experience building complex solutions within AWS / GCP and experience with architecting AWS / GCP production workloads for Business and IT operations, across a hybrid cloud environment.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python or Java.
• Hands-on experience with big data technologies and frameworks such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and Airflow.
• Experience in Infrastructure and Infrastructure as Code (IaaC) is a must.
• Hands-on experience with containers and containers orchestrators (Kubernetes, OpenShift).
• Perform proof-of-concepts (POCs) on new technologies and approaches.
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
• Able to research, investigate, evaluate, and learn from existing services. Should be Self-learner.
• Maintain technical awareness at a level where alternatives can be analysed, modelled, classified according to technical feasibility and non-functional characteristics.
